Aleena Norris 4/7/24: Guest Speaker - Randy

In our Thursday class (4/4/24), we had a guest speaker named Randy who shared with us some life advice from his own experiences. He strongly emphasized the importance of transitions, and acceptance throughout your life. He spoke: "You've gotta stop worrying about the old life and figure out the new one." This particularly stood out to me, as it is a lesson that I have been learning very intimately for the past three years. I originally went to the University of Tennessee for college, and had a very difficult time adjusting as I experienced homesickness and a deep loss for my old life and friends back home. It has always been very hard for me to cope with change, and always takes a while for me to adjust. There is a fine line between moving on with you're life and "figuring out the new one" while still appreciating the phase of your life that you just left, and the people in it. There is a kind of beauty in this, and focusing on your "new life" allows you to experience it fully.
